The Rest Below
“The Rest Below” tells of the voices trapped beneath the Room — drowned memories singing through the floor.
Corin follows their call, only to find his younger self among them. Together with 「YUKICHAN」’s spectral harmonies, this haunting dream-pop duet captures the sorrow of those who linger too long between worlds.
The song drifts like a memory half-remembered, its lyrics circling loss and release.
Each refrain fades into underwater echoes — voices calling out not to be saved, but to be remembered.
“If you hear us,” they whisper,
“hum softly, so we know we’re still a song.”

(Corin & YUKICHAN)
This is a collaboration between Corin Duttoni — the traveler who crosses thresholds — and 「YUKICHAN」, the echo who sings from the other side of memory.
Corin represents the self that remembers; 「YUKICHAN」, the voice that refuses to fade. Their duet blurs the line between reality and reverie — a conversation across time, as though one sings from above the floorboards and the other from below.
The result is both tender and unsettling: a reflection of the living speaking with the remembered. Neither truly understands which of them still exists.
Lyrics
[Verse 1]
I lay upstairs, the lamps grew dim,
Their hum became a hymn within.
At first I thought the floor would speak,
The ground below, the voices weak.
But deeper still, they wound through stone,
A thousand murmurs, not my own.
They whispered things I half-believed,
And stole the breath I tried to keep.
[Chorus 1]
We have lost and we remain,
Call us back, forget our names.
[Verse 2]
I went downstairs to chase the sound,
But still they came from underground.
The boards grew soft, they swayed with tide,
The Room dissolved on every side.
I saw the faces drifting near,
Their mouths still moving, drowned in fear.
And when I blinked, they rose through glass,
The weight of every ghost that’s passed.
[Chorus 2]
We were left, we lost, we bled,
Come lie with us, our quiet bed.
[Bridge]
Among their eyes a face I knew,
The boy I was before I grew.
He reached for me, I reached for him,
But water blurred and pulled me in.
The key I wore burned through the tide,
It kept me breathing, kept divide.
I saw him sink, I heard him pray,
The Rest Below pulled him away.
[Verse 3]
We still will call,
A sadness locked in undertow.
We lost our loves, 名前, our time,
And sing so no one feels alone.
Our lullabies, a hollow plea,
Not monsters here, just 影 fall,
[Chorus 3]
Rest below, the silence grows,
Every name the Room still knows.
[Outro]
I left them singing in the dark,
Lore Tie-ins
- The “voices beneath the Room” are the remnants of Spider Alley’s earliest victims, their memories bound to the space.
- The song’s underwater soundscape represents the submerged consciousness of those who lost themselves within the Room’s time loops.
- Corin’s encounter with his younger self symbolizes the first crack in his understanding — that he, too, may already be one of the remembered.
- 「YUKICHAN」’s presence marks her first canonical appearance in The Vanishing Room mythos — bridging this album to her own world of j-pop and powerful anime theme songs.
